As a Part-Time CDL Bus Washer, you will help keep our fleet clean, safe, and ready for daily service. This position is responsible for washing and cleaning the exteriors and interiors of transit buses, moving vehicles within the yard and wash area, and reporting any damage or safety concerns found during cleaning.

Our bus washers make sure vehicles meet EcoFleet cleanliness and appearance standards, contractual requirements, and applicable safety requirements before they return to service.

Pay Range: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour

Actual starting pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Part-Time Position – 8 Hours Per Week

This part-time position is not eligible for company-sponsored benefit programs.

Core Responsibilities

Exterior Washing:
Wash bus exteriors, including body, windows, mirrors, wheels, and lights, by hand and with automated wash equipment, following EcoFleet cleaning standards.

Interior Cleaning:
Clean bus interiors, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping seats, handrails, stanchions, and windows, removing trash, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces.

Vehicle Movement:
Safely drive and position buses between the yard, wash area, fueling area, and maintenance shop as directed.

Inspections & Reporting:
Perform pre-trip and post-trip checks when moving vehicles, and report damage, vandalism, leaks, or safety concerns to shop leadership.

Documentation:
Accurately record buses cleaned, cleaning tasks completed, and any issues found, using the company’s tracking system or logs.

Safety & Compliance:
Follow EcoFleet safety procedures and all applicable DOT, OSHA, and environmental requirements, including the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.

Work Area Standards:
Keep wash equipment, cleaning supplies, and assigned work areas clean, safe, stocked, and organized.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience washing, detailing, or cleaning commercial vehicles, buses, or fleet equipment is preferred but not required.

CDL Requirement:
Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) Endorsement and no air-brake restriction. Employees are required to maintain a valid CDL and all required endorsements throughout employment in this position.

DOT Medical Card:
Must possess a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) and maintain current DOT medical certification throughout employment in this position.

Drug & Alcohol Testing:
Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and take part in random drug and alcohol testing as required.

Work Availability:
EcoFleet supports a transportation operation that runs every day. Bus washers must be available to work their assigned schedule, which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.

Minimum Age:
Must be at least 21 years of age.

Communication Skills:
Must be able to read and follow work instructions, cleaning procedures, safety instructions, and chemical labels. Must be able to communicate effectively with shop leadership, technicians, drivers, and other operational personnel.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Physical Requirements:
This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing steps and ladders, and working in and around commercial vehicles for the full shift.

Lifting:
Must be able to lift and/or move supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in a bus yard and wash bay. It may involve outdoor weather conditions including rain and cold, wet and slippery surfaces, cleaning chemicals, elevated noise levels, and vehicle exhaust.

As a Transit Bus Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for daily service. This position is responsible for performing thorough inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and high-quality repairs on heavy-duty transit buses and related fleet equipment.

Our technicians ensure vehicles meet EcoFleet standards, manufacturer specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable DOT and regulatory requirements before being returned to service.

Core Responsibilities

Fleet Safety & Reliability:
Maintain transit buses and fleet equipment to ensure maximum safety, mechanical reliability, operational readiness, and passenger comfort in accordance with applicable requirements and EcoFleet maintenance standards.

Preventive Maintenance & Inspections:
Perform thorough preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) and identify mechanical, electrical, safety, and operational deficiencies before vehicles are returned to service.

Diagnostics & Repairs:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty transit bus systems and components. Depending on fleet configuration, this may include diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains; air brake systems; HVAC; electrical systems; suspension; steering; and other major vehicle systems.

Quality & Efficiency:
Complete maintenance and repairs safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while working to minimize vehicle downtime and maintain fleet availability.

Documentation:
Accurately document inspections, repairs, work performed, parts usage, and maintenance findings in the company's fleet maintenance management system.

Safety & Compliance:
Follow EcoFleet safety procedures and all applicable DOT, OSHA, environmental, and other regulatory requirements.

Technical Development:
Maintain technical competency on assigned vehicles and equipment and participate in required training and professional development.

Road Calls & Operational Support:
Assist with road calls, vehicle recovery, troubleshooting, and other maintenance-related operational needs when required.

Shop Standards:
Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an automotive, diesel, or heavy-duty vehicle technical program is preferred.

Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, Vehicle Maintenance Technician, or similar position is preferred. Experience maintaining heavy-duty trucks, buses, transit vehicles, or commercial fleet equipment is highly desirable.

ASE Certifications:
ASE certifications are preferred. Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain applicable certifications required for the position. Medium/Heavy Truck or Transit Bus ASE certifications are highly desirable.

CDL Requirement:
Must possess or obtain within the designated training period a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) Endorsement and no air-brake restriction. Employees are required to maintain a valid CDL and all required endorsements throughout employment in this position.

DOT Medical Card:
Must possess or obtain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card) and maintain current DOT medical certification throughout employment in this position.

Hand Tools:
Must possess or have access to a baseline personal hand-tool inventory appropriate for heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.

Work Availability:
EcoFleet supports a 24/7 transportation operation. Technicians must be available to work their assigned schedules, which may include days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.

Minimum Age:
Must be at least 21 years of age.

Technical & Communication Skills:
Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, diagnostic reports, maintenance procedures, safety instructions, work orders, and other technical information. Must be able to communicate effectively with shop leadership, technicians, drivers, and other operational personnel.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Physical Requirements:
This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, and working underneath and around commercial vehicles for extended periods.

Lifting:
Must be able to lift and/or move vehicle components and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds, with appropriate assistance or lifting equipment when necessary.

Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in a heavy-duty vehicle maintenance environment and may involve variable temperatures, elevated noise levels, vehicle exhaust, oils, lubricants, chemicals, and other conditions typically associated with commercial fleet maintenance.
